Santander - £240 Switch Bonus

Overview

Santander is offering £240 to new current account customers who switch to its fee-free Everyday Current Account using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS), pay in £1,500, hold two household Direct Debits and put £200 into a Santander Regular Saver within 60 days.

The offer is back for switch requests made on or after 27 October 2026. There's no published end date, but Santander says it can withdraw the offer at any time — the last round ran for just five weeks. At £240 it is one of the biggest cash switch bonuses on the market.

How to Claim

1. Click the 'Get This Offer' button and apply for a Santander Everyday Current Account (no monthly fee) — this is the only account that qualifies
2. Request a full switch through CASS from a current account at another bank, on or after 27 October 2026 (your old account closes as part of the switch)
3. Within 60 days of your switch request:
   • Complete the full switch
   • Pay in at least £1,500 (one or more payments — the money doesn't have to stay in the account)
   • Have at least 2 active household Direct Debits on the account
   • Pay at least £200 into a Santander Regular Saver in your own name (new or existing)
4. Keep the current account, the Regular Saver and the 2 Direct Debits in place — Santander pays the £240 90 days after your switch request

Requirements

• UK resident, 18+
• Must NOT have held a Santander current account on 1 January 2026
• Must NOT have previously received any Santander switcher incentive (this applies to any joint account holder too)
• Must NOT switch from a Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen account
• Full CASS switch, 2 active household Direct Debits, £1,500 pay-in and £200 into a Regular Saver — all within 60 days of the switch request
• Keep the account, Regular Saver and Direct Debits open until the bonus is paid

What counts as a 'household Direct Debit'

Only Direct Debits paying for these qualify:

• Council tax
• Mobile phone, home phone or broadband
• Paid-for TV packages (a Netflix-only Direct Debit doesn't count)
• Water, gas and electricity

Direct Debits that fund a Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen savings account do NOT count.

Important Terms

• One £240 per person; a joint account receives a single payment
• The Regular Saver pays 8% AER (variable) on up to £200 a month for 12 months — the £200 you pay in for the offer starts earning straight away
• Santander can refuse to pay if it suspects the offer is being abused
• If Santander withdraws the offer after you've submitted your switch request, you stay eligible as long as you meet the criteria

Tips

• Don't hang about — the previous £240 round (1 Sep–7 Oct 2026) was pulled after five weeks
• Set up your 2 household Direct Debits on the account you're switching from and let at least one collect before you request the switch, so they read as active when Santander checks
• Pick 2 different bill types (e.g. broadband + water) — switchers report Santander rejecting two of the same type
• Open the Regular Saver in the app as soon as your current account is live so the £200 is in well inside the 60-day window
