Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 October 2026

BeerMoneyUK is a small, independent UK site. We collect as little as we can get away with, we don't sell data, and we don't run ad trackers. This page explains exactly what we hold and why.

Who we are

BeerMoneyUK (beermoneyuk.co.uk) curates UK money-making offers, sign-up bonuses and freebies. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us via the contact page.

What we collect

Browsing anonymously: nothing personal. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and records aggregate page views, referrer, country and device type. It cannot identify you.

Signing in with Google: your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture URL. We use these to create your account and show you as signed in. We never see your Google password.

Tracking offers: if you use “Track this offer”, we store which offers you track, start dates, wait periods, status (active, ready, claimed, dropped), any reward amounts and notes you type, and which offers you choose to hide.

Feedback & contact: your message, and if you're not signed in, the name and email you give us so we can reply. “Report as expired” sends the offer name and your account if signed in.

Newsletter (when you subscribe): your email address, the date you subscribed and confirmed, and where on the site you signed up. We use double opt-in, so nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you.

Offer link clicks: when you click “Get This Offer” we add one to a counter for that offer. We do not record who clicked, your IP address, or a timestamp against you.

How we use it

  • To run your account and your tracked-offers dashboard.
  • To reply to feedback, questions and expiry reports.
  • To send you the newsletter you asked for, and only that. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • To understand which pages and offers are popular, in aggregate, so we can keep the site useful.
  • To spot abuse (we rate-limit public forms by IP, in memory, briefly).

Legal bases under UK GDPR: performance of a contract (your account and dashboard), consent (newsletter), and legitimate interests (replying to you, aggregate analytics, abuse prevention). We never use your data for profiling or automated decisions.

Cookies & local storage

Signed-in users get an encrypted session cookie set by our authentication library (Auth.js). It keeps you logged in and nothing else. It is strictly necessary, so no consent banner is required for it.

Everyone may have a few small values stored in your browser's localStorage / sessionStorage: your light/dark theme choice, whether you have dismissed the affiliate notice, and whether you have dismissed a dashboard banner. These never leave your device and contain nothing personal.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your data. It is processed by a small number of service providers who act on our instructions:

  • Vercel — hosts the site and provides the cookieless analytics.
  • Neon — hosts our Postgres database (accounts, tracked offers, feedback, newsletter list).
  • Google — provides sign-in. Google's own privacy policy covers what they do with your Google account.
  • Resend — sends newsletter and confirmation emails on our behalf when you subscribe.

Some of these providers run infrastructure outside the UK (for example in the EU or US). Where that happens, transfers are covered by their standard contractual clauses and UK addendums.

Affiliate links

Many “Get This Offer” buttons are referral or affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the provider may pay us a commission, at no cost to you. Once you leave our site you are on the provider's site and their privacy policy applies. We only list offers we believe are genuinely worthwhile, and we say so on every offer page.

How long we keep it

  • Account & tracked offers: until you ask us to delete your account.
  • Feedback & contact messages: up to 24 months, so we can follow up on offer issues.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribed addresses are kept only as a suppression record so we don't email you again.
  • Unconfirmed newsletter sign-ups: deleted after 30 days if you never click the confirmation link.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your account and everything linked to it;
  • stop sending you the newsletter (or just use the unsubscribe link);
  • restrict or object to how we use your data.

Email us via the contact page and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled your data badly, though we'd appreciate the chance to fix it first.

Contact

Questions about this policy or your data: use the contact form. We may update this page from time to time; the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
