Barclays - £200 Switch Bonus

Overview

Barclays is offering £200 to new customers who switch their main current account using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). The offer is back for summer 2026 — open a Barclays Bank Account and start your switch in the Barclays app between 9 June and 27 August 2026 and the £200 lands within 28 working days of meeting the criteria.

No Blue Rewards membership is required — just a sole Barclays Bank Account opened via the app.

How to Claim

1. Download the Barclays app and apply for a Barclays Bank Account (sole account, opened in-app)
2. Start your application by 27 August 2026 and complete it within 30 days of starting
3. Use the in-app switching tool to start a full CASS switch from another bank — the switch must also be initiated by 27 August 2026 and completed within 30 days of requesting it
4. Make sure 2 or more active direct debits transfer across as part of the switch
5. Pay in at least £2,000 within 30 days of opening the account (can be in instalments)
6. Barclays will text you when you've qualified — the £200 arrives within 28 working days (shows as 'Switch Reward' on your statement)

Requirements

• New Barclays current account customer — you must NOT have had any open personal Barclays current account on or before 9 June 2026 (Bank Account, student/graduate or Premier accounts all count)
• Must NOT have ever received a Barclays current account switch bonus before
• 18+ UK resident with a mobile number (the account must be opened in the Barclays app)
• Sole Barclays Bank Account (joint accounts excluded)
• Full CASS switch from a different participating bank — not a partial transfer
• 2+ active direct debits migrated with the switch
• £2,000 paid in within 30 days of account opening
• Keep the account open until the bonus is paid
• Not available if you only qualify for the Barclays Basic Current Account

Other Barclays Products

Holding a Barclaycard, Barclays savings account or Barclays mortgage does not exclude you — the exclusion only applies to personal current accounts. If you already use the Barclays app for those products, delete and reinstall the app and register as a new customer before applying; if your new account doesn't appear within 48 hours, contact Barclays to merge your profiles.

Important Notes

• If the £2,000 deposit triggers fraud alerts, trickle the money in (£20 → £100 → £500 → rest) with a plain reference (your name)
• The 'Barclays Bank Account' is their standard fee-free current account; the offer does NOT apply to the separate Barclays Basic Current Account (a credit-restricted product)
• Consider opening a 'burner' account at another bank first if you don't want to switch your main account
• Earning £75k+? Barclays may only offer you the Premier Current Account in-app, which has separate rules — request the standard Barclays Bank Account if you want this £200 offer
