Santander 123 Mini – Free £50 for 13 to 17 Year Olds

Overview

The Santander 123 Mini Current Account is a fee-free current account for under-18s, with a debit card and app access for 13 to 17 year olds. New account holders aged 13 to 17 who pay in £50 within 31 days of opening get a free £50 added to the account within 60 days.

How to Claim

1. Click the 'Get This Offer' button — 13 to 17 year olds apply online or in the Santander app themselves
2. Have ID ready: an in-date UK or Irish passport, or a birth/adoption certificate, plus proof of address (a parent's driving licence or bank statement under 3 months old, or a school letter under 12 months old)
3. Pay at least £50 into the new account within 31 days of opening — a bank transfer from a parent works
4. Keep the account open; Santander pays the £50 bonus into it within 60 days

Requirements

• Aged 13 to 17 when the account is opened
• Account opened on or after 24 August 2026
• At least £50 paid in within 31 days of opening
• Account still open when the bonus is paid
• Not available if the applicant has previously held a 123 Mini or 123 Mini in Trust account

Important Terms

• Welcome offer launched 1 September 2026 with no published end date — Santander can withdraw, change or replace it at any time
• Interest is paid monthly on the whole balance: 1% up to £999.99, 2% from £1,000 to £1,499.99, 3% from £1,500 to £2,000 (variable)
• No monthly fee
• Under-13s can only have the account opened in trust by a parent in branch, and that version is not covered by the £50 offer
• Bonus is paid as cash into the 123 Mini account and belongs to the account holder

Tips

• The £50 you pay in is not spent — it just needs to land in the account, so the bonus is pure profit
• Set the opening deposit up as a transfer from a parent's account the same day the account goes live so the 31-day window is never an issue
• If the teenager is close to 18, apply now — the age cut-off is at opening, not at payout
