Overview
The Hilton Honors Plus debit card is issued by Currensea and links to your existing UK current account via open banking — no new bank account needed. It earns Hilton Honors points on everyday spend and grants instant Hilton Gold status for as long as you hold the card. Until 7 September 2026 the welcome bonus is boosted to up to 50,000 points (normally 15,000).
How to Claim
- Click the 'Get This Offer' button and apply for the Plus card, linking your existing UK current account via open banking.
- Make any first transaction on the card — 20,000 points are credited.
- Spend £2,500 in foreign currency within 6 months of activation for a further 30,000 points.
- Gold status is granted instantly on activation; bonus points post to your Hilton Honors account after each milestone.
Requirements
- UK resident with an existing UK current account (links via open banking)
- Apply by 7 September 2026 to qualify for the 50,000-point bonus
- £150 annual fee (Plus card)
- £2,500 of foreign-currency spend within 6 months for the second 30,000-point tranche
- Must not have cancelled either Hilton debit card in the prior 12 months
Important Terms
- Bonus is 20,000 points after your first transaction + 30,000 points after £2,500 FX spend — the first tranche is near-guaranteed, the second needs a holiday or overseas purchases
- Earns 1.5 points/£1 in GBP, 3 points/£1 outside the UK and at UK Hiltons, 4.5 points/£1 at Hiltons abroad
- 5 Elite Qualifying Nights per £5,000 spent (max 30/year) plus 5 bonus nights for hitting the £2,500 FX target
- 10,000-point renewal bonus if you spend £10,000+ in a year
- FX spend uses Currensea's live rate + 0.5% fee; ATM withdrawals 0.5% (2.5% above £500/month)
- Gold status = free breakfast for you and a guest, space-available room upgrades, 80% bonus points on stays
- Cheaper standard card: £60/year, Silver status, lower bonus and earn rates
Tips
- Hilton points are typically worth around 0.4p each, so 50,000 points ≈ £200 of hotel stays — enough to cover the £150 fee in year one if you use them, before counting the value of Gold breakfasts
- Time the application before a holiday so the £2,500 FX spend happens naturally
- Poor value if you rarely stay at Hilton — the fee only makes sense if you will redeem the points and use Gold
