Overview

Ulster Bank (part of NatWest Group) is offering £200 to new current account customers who switch in via CASS and meet a few simple requirements. The £200 is paid within 30 days of qualifying.

The offer is open-ended (no fixed end date in the official T&Cs), but may be withdrawn at any time.

How to Claim

  1. Apply online or in the Ulster Bank app for a Select account
  2. Start a full CASS switch from another bank
  3. Log in to the Ulster Bank mobile app within 60 days
  4. Deposit at least £1,250 within 60 days (must remain in the account for 24 hours)
  5. Receive £200 within 30 days of meeting the criteria

Requirements

  • New Ulster Bank current account customer
  • Must not have held an Ulster Bank current account as of 26 May 2026
  • Per the T&Cs, must not have received any prior switching bonus from the NatWest Group — in practice the three brands pay out separately for most users (see Important Notes)
  • Must not be switching FROM a NatWest Group account (NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland) — this is the hard block; use a Chase burner instead
  • 18+ and UK resident
  • Full CASS switch closing your old account
  • £1,250 paid in within 60 days
  • App login within 60 days
  • Application must be online or via the Ulster Bank app — branch/phone applications do not qualify
  • No fixed deadline (offer may be withdrawn at any time)

Key Benefits

  • £200 cash bonus
  • No direct debits required (unusual vs other UK switch offers)
  • £1,250 only needs to remain in the account for 24 hours
  • One bonus per joint account
  • FSCS protected up to £85,000

Important Notes

  • NatWest Group rule — strict on paper, loose in practice: Officially you only qualify for one bonus across NatWest, RBS and Ulster, ever. In reality the three brands run separate promotions and most users report stacking all three back-to-back. Risk is non-zero — some readers who've previously been declined by NatWest or RBS are blocked from Ulster too. Use a fresh email address per attempt to keep the records cleaner.
  • The "switching from" exclusion is a hard block: Don't use a NatWest, RBS or Ulster account as your switch-from source — the system will reject it. Use a Chase secondary or other non-NatWest-Group burner.
  • £1,250 can be withdrawn once it has been paid in
  • Branch picker quirk (not a hack): Ulster Bank is fully UK-authorised but all its physical branches are in Northern Ireland. The online application includes a "home branch" step that won't return any results for a GB postcode. Enter a Northern Ireland postcode (Belfast works) so the picker returns options, pick any branch — you'll never visit it and your banking is entirely digital. Your real residential address still goes in the standard address field; the branch field is an admin-only attribute, not a residency claim.
  • Ulster's Mitek ID verification can be sensitive — use natural daylight and ensure all four passport corners fall outside the on-screen frame; retries usually succeed
  • Ulster historically takes 1–3 weeks to open an account (slower than NatWest or RBS) — plan accordingly
